Destroyer of the universe pose is an advanced posture that has side plank pose as its base pose. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is considered to be the destroyer of the world. From a side plank position with one hand down and the body turned to the side, the leg closest to the ground is lifted so that the ankle rests behind the head, with the hip and thigh in external rotation. The top arm lifts straight up and presses the lifted leg back further.
