Low Lunge
Sanskrit Name: Anjaneyasana

Challenge Level: Medium
Low lunge pose is a basic yoga posture that provides a deep stretch for the groin, quadriceps and hips. From downward-facing dog pose, step one foot forward between the hands with the knee at a 90-degree angle just above the ankle. Lower the back knee to the ground while adjusting the foot so the toes face back and the top of the foot touches the ground. The hands remain on the mat on either side of the front foot.

Balancing Yoga Poses
The grounding of the feet, distribution of the body weight, learning to breathe soft and deep are all important aspects of building a strong foundation for a typical balance pose. These strengthen the stabilizer muscles thus helps your body to avoid falling and knocking things over. These can also help a lot in removing stress and anxiety.
Standing Yoga Poses
Standing poses build strength and stability. The awareness is on physical and mental balance. To stand erect, the feet must be firmly planted on the ground, with the spine stretching upward and the head lifted. These foundation poses provide entry into standing on one leg.
Backbend Yoga Poses
Our spines are an incredible combination of strength and flexibility. Strong bones and large muscles give us structure and protect sensitive nerves, while flexible ligaments and tendons allow the spine to move in all different planes. With regular backbends we can help to protect this wonderful balance by increasing mobility while strengthening the supporting muscles around the skeleton.
